First Methodist — 2nd Monday of every month 9:30-11:30 — contact Jean Palo for more info.
Lazarus Project A transitional housing program for both men and women, the Lazarus Project offers a chance for people to regain their hopes, dreams, and dignity. Bethel supports this community ministry through monetary gifts and by collecting blankets, clothing, and other items as the needs arise.
St. John’s Women’s and Children Shelter One of the largest shelters in the Sacramento area, members of Bethel offer support in a variety of ways. Each month a group goes to the shelter to offer free time to the women while reading books and playing games with the children staying there. At Christmas time Bethel’s members donate gifts and provide an opportunity for the children to “shop” for gifts for their mothers. Volunteers from Bethel spend the evening helping the children choose and wrap gifts. Last Easter we began a tradition of providing Easter baskets for the children living at the shelter.
Alcoholics Anonymous Twice a week Bethel hosts meetings. These groups meet Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 7:30.
Alanon Aimed at helping families dealing with the impacts of a loved one’s alcoholism, an Al-anon support group meets on Friday evenings at 7:30 at Bethel.
Facilities Use Bethel offers a flexible space for intimate gatherings. While normally associated with weddings, our sanctuary has also played host to musical recitals and even a quinceanera! For information on using our facilities please contact the church office
