The Souper Bowl of Caring  Equipping and mobilizing congregations and youth groups to positively impact their communities by collecting money on Super Bowl weekend — 100% of which is donated directly to the charity of each group's choice.

Lutheran Church in Rwanda

Bethel’s sister parish relationship with Kirehe Parish of the Lutheran Church of Rwanda continues to grow. Our relationship began in 2000 and has inspired many other churches in the Sierra Pacific Synod and beyond to follow our example. Our youth are activily involved with fundraising for specific projects involving our sister parish. Right now that means a new roof for their sanctuary.
Members of our congregation, Cindy Tuisku and Alison Larson, have each traveled to Rwanda helping to solidify relationships reaching across the ocean. Other members give direct tuition support to both Primary and Secondary Rwandan students. There are always more kids who could use this help, if you are interested just ask. Rwanda School Project

Bethel first began to get involved with Rwanda because of a relationship we built with Pastor John Rutsindintwarane, the General Secretary of the Lutheran Church in Rwanda. Now we are furthering that involvment by spreading the word about the Rwanda School Project. This secondary school was founded by Pastor John’s wife Robin Strickler.
